The German Football Association was content to fine Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann 50,000 euros after being threatened with disqualification following his statements against the referees. Mönchengladbach 2-3 in the national championship last Saturday.
Nagelsmann will be on the bench at the top of stage twenty-two against his host and his leading partner, Union Berlin, on Sunday.
The German federation launched an investigation last Sunday after Nagelsmann stormed into the referee’s dressing room in Mönchengladbach after the final whistle when he vented his anger over the early exclusion of his French international defender Daewoo Aubamecano, particularly in the eighth minute.
Reports indicated that the Bavarian club coach yelled at the referees, in particular referee Tobias Welts, and reporters heard him say as he hit the room door: “This is a joke. No one can convince me that this (mistake) deserves to be deleted.”
The Bayern manager later apologized and admitted he had “crossed a line” but insisted the red card was unfair.
Bayern Munich kept the lead despite losing by goal difference to Borussia Mönchengladbach against Borussia Dortmund and Union Berlin.
