Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola has expressed his confidence that Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva will remain with the team despite his earlier promise not to leave a single disgruntled player at the club.
Silva was reported to have expressed a desire to leave City last year, but the former AS Monaco player remained with the team, playing a key role in Guardiola’s team, winning the English Premier League for the fourth time in five seasons.
The Portuguese has been closely linked with a move to Barcelona after five seasons at the Al Ittihad Stadium, while Catalan coach Javi Hernandez has expressed a desire to bring the 27-year-old forward.
Guardiola said at a press conference: “I think Bernardo Silva will stay with us, that’s my feeling today.
However, Guardiola put an end to all rumors of Silva’s move before the start of the 2022-2023 season when he made an appearance following the announcement of a pre-season friendly for City against his former side Barcelona.
