GTA 6 Likely to Launch First on PS5 and Xbox Series, Insider Claims
A well-known insider from Rockstar Games, Tez2, has revealed that Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) might be initially released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. This decision by Rockstar Games is not unprecedented, as they have followed a similar pattern in the past. However, the reasons behind this choice seem to be different this time around.
According to a report by Dexerto, Tez2 shared this information on the GTA forums while discussing the possibility of GTA 6 releasing on PC. Initially, Tez2 shared the belief that the game would be launched simultaneously on consoles and PC. However, Rockstar Games changed their plans due to internal concerns. Tez2 explained that the PC version of GTA 6 is currently facing more bugs compared to the console version. Rockstar Games is keen on avoiding a situation similar to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and The Last of Us Part 1, where the PC versions encountered multiple issues.
Tez2 further mentioned, “I’ve heard from various sources that the developers are planning to release GTA 6 on PC, but they feel they need more time. Hopefully, the delay will only be a few months.” Speculations have suggested a potential release in early 2024, indicating that the PC version may arrive in the summer or early fall of that year.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the PC release, various hints, including an email from Take-Two, indicate that the official announcement of GTA 6 is imminent. This announcement is expected to address the numerous rumors and reports that have emerged online, offering more clarity on the highly anticipated game.
