The Saudi Arabia women’s team has qualified for the first group of the inaugural West Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship, which will be held in Amman, Jordan, from November 13 to 24.
The green group included the teams of Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, and the second group included the teams of Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.
The Green Women will head to a training camp on November 7 in Riyadh that will include fitness and tactical exercises led by Egyptian trainer Abdel Hamid Al-Hadidi.
Member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Volleyball Federation and head of the delegation of the Saudi Arabian women’s team participating in the tournament, Hanan Al-Qahtani said: The participation of the team in this tournament is the first officially for them, and we hope to achieve the desired goals and receive benefits in order to build a road a map of building a generation conducive to achieving the achievements of the Saudi women’s agenda.
Al-Qahtani indicated that the Women’s Committee of the Volleyball Federation is seeking to expand the base of the game by distributing it to the regions of the Kingdom in order to build a player base at an early age, and more time is undoubtedly needed for this.
