The Ministry of Sports, represented by the Saudi Nautical Sports and Diving Federation, launched the Kingdom’s Freediving Championship over the weekend. And this is in the green hall of the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah. The three-day tournament included “aesthetic” disciplines, requiring the player to stay under water for the longest time in one breath, and “dynamic” disciplines: diving and swimming horizontally under water in one breath for the maximum distance.
The federation of the game separated women’s tournaments from men’s; So in each discipline there will be a separate race for women and a separate race for men, where there will be three first places for women specializing in aesthetics, three first places for women specializing in dynamics, three first places for men specializing in aesthetics, and three first places among men specializing in dynamics.
A total of 12 winners were awarded, 3 in each of the two disciplines in the women’s category and 3 in each of the two disciplines in the men’s category; There are (29) players in the competition, 19 men and 10 women.
The tournament received the full support of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports, and HRH Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, President of the Saudi Arabian Nautical and Diving Federation.
