Miguel Salgado, the son of former Real Madrid and Spain star Mitchell Salgado, has decided to defend the colors of the UAE Under-20 team in the coming period.
Miguel Salgado has the citizenship of the United Arab Emirates due to the fact that he has lived on their lands for many years with his family.
Through his personal Instagram account, Salgado’s father posted a photo with his 17-year-old son wearing a UAE jersey and commented on it, wishing him well.
Miguel Salgado was at Celta Vigo’s academy until last year, the club where his father started his football career, but he currently plays for Portugal’s Bacos Ferreira, who joined him last February.
Miguel Salgado is expected to make his first appearance in the UAE national team jersey during the preparation period for the 2023 Asian Youth Cup qualifiers.
Mitchell Salgado has lived in Dubai for many years and heads the Forsan Club, which plays in the second division of the UAE.
Mitchell Salgado defended the colors of Real Madrid from 1999 to 2009, winning 11 trophies with him, including 3 European titles.
