Western media have revealed the latest developments in the plight of Ghanaian player Christian Atsu, a Turkish Hatayspor player who was among the missing in the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey on Monday.
The newspaper reported that the former Chelsea and Newcastle player had recovered, noting that he had been taken to hospital.
And she indicated that an extensive search had been launched for the Turkish Hatayspor player, indicating that a number of people close to the Ghana international confirmed that he had been transferred to the hospital and was in good condition.
The Ghanaian winger, 31, joined Hatayspor last September from Al Raed.
Atsu spent 5 seasons at Newcastle from 2016 to 2021 before moving to Al Raed.
On Sunday, a few hours before the earthquake, Atsu scored the winning goal for his team in the seventh minute of stoppage time from a free kick against Kasimpasa (1-0) in the Turkish league.
He played his last international match in September 2019, noting that he participated in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but missed out on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
