The Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Association has approved the new Saudi Super Cup system starting from the next 2022-2023 AD competition which will be played with 4 teams: the champion and runner-up Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, and the champion and runner-up a place in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Professional Cup. By resorting to the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Professional League clubs’ arrangement.
The tournament will be held in 3 matches: semi-final matches and final match.
The decision of the Saudi Arabian Federation was taken based on what was presented by the Competition Committee and the Commercial Committee, with the aim of increasing the level of competition by expanding the base of participation in the Saudi Super and increasing the marketing value of the championship.
The Saudi Federation will set the date for the tournament in agreement with the relevant authorities and sponsor companies according to the calendar of the next sports season.
