Yesterday, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine announced that 5 of its members were killed in an Israeli raid. Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command spokesman Abu Kifah Ghazi stated that Israel targeted the front line on the Lebanese-Syrian border, resulting in the martyrdom of 5 members. In its statement, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine mourned its dead, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded. The Front’s statement argued that this crime is not isolated from the recent accelerating developments on the Lebanese and Syrian fronts, and within the ongoing Israeli threats against resistance forces inside and outside Palestine.
On the other hand, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported, citing Israeli officials, that the Israeli army did not carry out any attacks in Lebanon. In turn, the official Israeli radio “Kan” reported that in Israel there is a refutation of the news about the raid on the Lebanese-Syrian border.
Also on Tuesday, an Israeli was killed by Palestinian shelling near a settlement in the north of the occupied West Bank, according to a medical source and the Israeli army. On Monday, the Israeli army killed a Palestinian intelligence officer during a military operation in the city of Jenin.
Some 490,000 Israelis live in the West Bank settlements that Israel has occupied since 1967, in settlements that are illegal under international law.
