We already knew that Supergirl, Ben Afflek’s Batman, General Zod, and Michael Keaton’s Batman would be in the new DC movie The Flash. But it has been thought for a long time (but not confirmed) that the movie that resets the universe will include even more of DC’s beloved characters. Now that FunkoPop’s new line of The Flash figurines has been shown, we know that Wonder Woman will indeed appear somewhere in the movie.

This week, Funkopop announced in an unassuming Tweet that its line of figurines based on The Flash would include not only the characters we already knew but also Wonder Woman. In the tweet, there was a picture of a figure of Wonder Woman next to figurines of Zod, a young Barry Allen, Iris West, and The Flash. For those interested, the tweet also showed a figure of Barry Allen in a monkey bathrobe.
This news about Wonder Woman on The Flash comes soon after a commercial for Shazam! The book “Fury of the Gods” showed that Gal Gadot would return as Wonder Woman. Before, it wasn’t clear if she’d return to that role, and many people thought she’d be replaced in the same way that James Gunn replaced Henry Cavill in the role of Superman. Of course, a cryptic tweet from Justice League director Zack Snyder gives us reason to think that Henry Cavill will be back.
Since The Flash jumps around in time and space, no one knows if Gal Gadot will appear as Wonder Woman. We’ve already seen two versions of Batman and Supergirl instead of Superman, so there could be a different version of Wonder Woman. But since the movie likes to play on nostalgia, the only other obvious choice would be to bring back Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman in the 1975 TV series of the same name. Carter is now 71 years old.
On the Funkopop website, there are figures of other The Flash characters coming out soon besides Wonder Woman that should have been shown in the tweet. One of these characters is Godspeed, a villain with speed-based superpowers out for revenge. Dark Flash, a bad guy, and Zoom, a serial killer, are both on the list of toys.
But since these characters weren’t shown in the tweet, it seems less likely that they will be in the movie version of The Flash than Wonder Woman. Funko’s new line will also include a “TV Series Reverse Flash” figure, which suggests that the line might consist of characters from both the movie and the CW TV show. Godspeed, Zoom, and Dark Flash have all been on the show, but Wonder Woman hasn’t. This makes it more likely that she will be in a movie.
Ultimately, we won’t know if Wonder Woman or any other characters not shown in the trailers will be in The Flash until it comes out on June 16, 2023.
