The Exciting World of Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Percy Jackson & the Olympians was the name of an exciting new fantasy and adventure book series brought to us by author Rick Riordan in June of 2005. These books were influenced by Greek mythology. The main character of the series is a young boy named Percy Jackson, who is twelve years old when he finds out that he is, in fact, a demigod and the son of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. Riordan quickly became a major hit, and he followed up the extremely popular first installment with four more, taking readers on an immensely unusual trip as we witnessed Percy grow up and embrace his identity to help save the world. The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series books have sold over 100 million copies combined. In 2010, after the last book in the series had been published, a movie version of the first novel, The Lightning Thief, was released in theaters. After that, in 2013, a sequel titled Sea of Monsters was released. On the other hand, audiences and critics alike, as well as fans of the source material, had a variety of reactions to both films. When the movies were being made, or in the years that followed their initial release, Riordan was not a huge admirer of them. This epic literary tale is, thankfully, getting a second chance to return to our screens, and this time it will do so in the form of a television series.

What is the Plot of Percy Jackson and the Olympians?
You will be familiar with the content that will be covered in the first season of the series if you have either read the book series or seen the two film adaptations of it. The official synopsis, which is written in a manner that is succinct and straightforward, goes as follows:
Percy Jackson, a demigod, embarks on a journey across the continent of North America to stop a conflict between the Olympian gods.
Permit me to expand for those who need to get acquainted with the source material! The first book in the series, The Lightning Thief, will serve as the primary inspiration for the show’s first season, which will be mostly based on the novel. In it, the Greek god Zeus accuses Percy of stealing his thunderbolt and must defend himself. This ultimately sets in motion a chaotic chain of events that has the potential to irrevocably alter both the world of the mortals and the world of the gods, putting Percy in a race against the clock to find the thunderbolt that went missing.
Percy discovers more about this vast world of gods and monsters while also making new friends along the way, and the novels are full of exciting adventures filled with a lot of heart and comedy. Therefore, the series is going to be a lot of fun!
