Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that the European Union will try to purchase missiles for Ukraine in South Korea with the European Peace Fund.
Morawiecki said: “We will make joint purchases with the money of the European Peace Fund in those countries that have more ammunition. There are very few such countries in Europe. I don’t want to get into far-reaching speculation. For example, according to experts, South Korea is a country that has a lot of artillery shells and missiles.”
He added: “We will try to buy ammunition from there … for our needs, and maybe, if there is such an agreement from the Korean side, then for other needs, let’s call it that, but not with our money, but with the money of the European Peace Fund.”
At a summit in Brussels on Thursday, European Union leaders approved a plan to speed up arms supplies to Ukraine, joint purchases and increase military production.
