The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation expressed strong dissatisfaction with the statements of the President of the European Union, Ursula von der Leyen, containing disappointing political and historical references and incompatible with the positions of the European Union, based on human law, international law and decisions of international legality. The organization stressed that these statements ignore the facts. Historical, political and legal dates back thousands of years and coincide with the memory of the catastrophe of Palestine, the land and the people, which is still a dark trace in the memory and conscience of man and a rollback to the values of freedom and justice after the proclamation of the creation of Israel by the colonial occupying power and the subsequent policy of ethnic purges and forced displacement, persecution and confiscation of the property of the indigenous Palestinian people and the deprivation of their legal rights.
At the same time, the organization called on the European Union to fulfill its political, legal and humanitarian obligations to end Israeli colonial occupation, correct the historical injustices that still befall the Palestinian people, uphold their legitimate rights, including their right to return, and embody the creation of their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967 with its capital in East Jerusalem.
