After buying 9.2% of Twitter’s equity to become the majority shareholder, Elon Musk will join the network’s board of directors social. And the Tesla boss, who tweets a lot, takes this role very seriously. Musk said he would make significant improvements to the platform in the coming months in announcing his appointment. What’s more, while the appointment has yet to be announced, he tweeted about an “Edit” button that could finally be offered by the platform to allow users to edit their tweets once posted.
Elon Musk is interested in Twitter Blue, a version network fee social
Like other social networks, Twitter is financially dependent on advertising revenue. However, to reduce that dependency, the company has launched a paid subscription called Twitter Blue, which is currently available in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand (allowing you to use NFT as your profile picture, for example). And apparently, as a board member, Elon Musk wants to “improve” this paid offering from Twitter. In a series of tweets, this one share some of Twitter’s suggestions regarding Twitter Blue. He said that everyone who signs up for a Twitter Blue subscription must have some sort of authentication badge. However, the Tesla boss clarifies that this badge should be different from the one that certifies the accounts of public figures or institutions. In addition, Twitter must implement place measures against fraudsters. “Price should probably be around $2/month but billed 12 months in advance and account not verified for 60 days. […] and suspended without refund if used for scam/spam,” Elon Musk explained, which sounds very serious. By the way, paying Twitter followers should no longer see ads for this. He also believes that tariffs should be proportional to the purchasing power in different countries, and Elon Musk even goes so far as to suggest that Twitter accept the Dogecoin cryptocurrency as a means of payment (recall, it is already possible for creators to receive donations in cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, to monetize their influence).
Elon Musk also wants to turn the Twitter premises into a homeless shelter
In another tweet, Musk asks followers whether to convert the company’s San Francisco premises into a homeless shelter “because no one shows up anyway” (because of Twitter’s telecommuting policy?). Elon Musk even suggests removing the “W” from Twitter’s name in another poll.
Delete the w in twitter?
