US President Joe Biden arrived in Israel on Wednesday at the start of his tour of the region.
The US Air Force One landed on Wednesday afternoon at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, where Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog and Prime Minister Yair Lapid were waiting, AFP reported. After receiving Biden, the Israeli president said the US president’s visit reflects the depth of bilateral relations, noting that Biden has always supported Israel. He also added: “We will discuss the security risks posed by Iran.”
For his part, the Israeli prime minister addressed Biden, saying that “Israel has become very advanced.” And he added: “We will discuss national security issues with Biden, as well as discuss building a new security structure and economy in the Middle East.” He also stressed: “We will discuss the need to renew a strong global alliance that will stop Iran’s nuclear program.”
