Diablo IV’s Season One Battle Pass Falls Short in Providing Enough Premium Currency
Diablo IV fans are in for disappointment as it becomes apparent that the battle pass for Season One: Season Of The Malignant fails to offer enough premium currency for players to purchase the next battle pass.
Upon completing the Season Of The Malignant battle pass, players are rewarded with 666 Platinum, the premium in-game currency that can be used for the premium-level battle pass or other cosmetic items.
Unfortunately, this amount falls significantly short of what is needed to acquire season two’s battle pass, which is estimated to cost 1,000 Platinum.
Furthermore, players are unable to buy any in-game cosmetics in Diablo IV’s storefront as the cheapest item is priced at 800 Platinum.
Essentially, this means that players cannot spend $10 on the battle pass and earn enough premium currency through gameplay to purchase a new battle pass or special cosmetic items.
On the contrary, games like Apex Legends and Call Of Duty have battle pass systems that enable players to earn enough currency for the next battle pass simply by playing, potentially allowing them to unlock additional cosmetic rewards as well.
It is understandable that players are unhappy with Blizzard for implementing a questionable battle pass system in Diablo that compels additional monetary expenditure regardless of the time invested in the game.
This issue arises after players inadvertently purchased the premium battle pass due to poor menu design, a flaw that Blizzard is fortunately rectifying.
Additionally, players have not forgotten nor forgiven Blizzard for its disastrous patch that universally weakened every class and build. This led Blizzard to backtrack and state during a livestream that such a patch would not be released again.
Despite these grievances, Diablo IV enjoys the distinction of being Blizzard’s biggest launch ever, attracting over 10 million players to the world of Sanctuary within the first month.
