Kathryn Tewson
Kathryn Tewson, who assisted Bungie in locating the origin of the harassment, was the first person to disclose the investigation’s findings.
According to court documents that have been made public, the defendant targeted an employee who did not wish to be named after the employee who shared on social media the work of a Black creator named Detrick ‘Uhmaayyze’ Houchens. The community manager’s personal information was obtained to carry out these attacks, which resulted in the employee being phoned and having “hideous, bigoted” voicemails left for them. The voicemails contained many requests to Bungie to “create options in its game in which only persons of color would be killed.”
According to the employee, the harassing behavior would continue with racist texts and voicemails being left for the employee’s wife.
According to the records filed with the court, the defendant “spent hours that day carpet bombing the [employee] with racist text and voice messages.” “Not satisfied, he showed the employee that he knew where they lived and could assault them there.”
Bungie’s Legal Representation
Bungie decided to get legal representation for the employee who was being harassed and threatened with physical harm because of the harassment and threats made against them.
