The Transitional Government of Mali announced that the death toll from last Sunday’s attack on a military facility in the eastern region of Tessilt has risen to 42 soldiers.
A government statement said 37 militants were killed and 22 soldiers were wounded.
The new result is the highest in the ranks of the Malian army since a series of terrorist attacks in late 2019 and early 2020 by the terrorist organization ISIS in the border triangle between Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.
