Former Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Abdel Salam Majali has died at the age of 98. Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh mourned Majali in a statement released by Jordan News Agency (Petra), emphasizing that “Jordan lost, with his passing, one of its loyal men who served with unprecedented sincerity and valor.” defended the positions and constants of the country at various local and external levels and served the Hashemite leadership. They sincerely sought to advance Jordan and the cause of the Arab and Islamic peoples.” Majali served as prime minister, minister of foreign affairs and defense from 1993 to 1995, and prime minister and minister of defense from 1997-1998.
He has also served as Minister of Health, Minister of State for Prime Ministerial Affairs, Minister of Education, Advisor to the late King Hussein bin Talal, multiple member of the Senate, President of the University of Jordan, and CEO of the Medical Institution.
He also led the Jordanian delegation to the Middle East peace talks.
