The General Department of Digital Transformation and Information Technology of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in cooperation with the National Cyber Security Authority, hosted an information session to raise cybersecurity awareness for the staff of the General Secretariat today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh with the aim of forming a high cyberculture and creating a safe environment. This is part of the Kingdom’s cybersecurity authority’s mission to mitigate risk, increase confidence and drive growth, thereby contributing to a safe and secure cyberspace that promotes growth and prosperity. The introductory session covered three areas aimed at protecting cyberspace, an overview of the methods used in cyber attacks, the importance of cybersecurity at the national level, and the most well-known secure methods and practices for protecting a cybersecurity system.
The convening of this session is part of a partnership undertaken by the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council to draw on the experience of specialized bodies in all areas to improve the process of joint action among the Gulf countries.
It is worth noting that the National Cyber Security Authority is the competent authority for cyber security and the national benchmark in this regard and aims to strengthen the protection of vital interests and national security in the Kingdom, in addition to protecting sensitive infrastructure and priority sectors and building national capacities specialized in cyber security .
