A state of confusion prevailed over the Al Raed team before the two most important matches of the season, when they will face Al Ahly in the 28th round of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Pro Cup and then Abha in the final round.
The management of Al-Raed, led by Fahd Al-Mutawa, removed the Portuguese coach Joao Pedro from the team without announcing it officially, after losing 3-0 to Al-Nasr in the 27th round.
The task was given to the club’s youth coach, Bruno Mourinho, and he led the team against Al Shabaab on matchday 28, with Al Raed losing by a clean double. Al Raed is currently 13th on the list with 30 points as the team is in the Yellow League relegation round for the first division.
Al Raed’s management opened channels of communication with Algerian coach Noureddine Ben Zekri to lead the team in two tough league matches. These channels were through intermediaries, which led the coach to stipulate that negotiations should be carried out directly with the pilot’s management.
This coincided with Al Raed sacking three of their players before the end of the season for not capitalizing on them in their next two matches: Ahmed Al Zein, Abdul Rahman Al Ghamdi and Mutaib Al Mutlaq. The Al Raed team resumed training last Friday in preparation for their return to the league, where club president Fahd Al Mutawa met with the players.
