Yemeni Information Minister Muammar al-Eryani released confessions of a Houthi cell that was overrun by the combined forces on the west coast and was smuggling weapons from the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas to the ports of Hodeidah under the supervision of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards.
Al-Eryani confirmed that Tehran continues to supply the militias with weapons in flagrant violation of international law and Security Council resolutions regarding the Yemeni crisis, adding that the confessions confirm Iran’s role in undermining peace efforts and using the Houthi militias as a tool to kill Yemenis. destabilizing the security and stability of Yemen and spreading chaos and terrorism in the country. The region and the threat to international interests, as well as the use of the Stockholm Agreement by the militias to use the ports of Hodeidah as a window for smuggling Iranian weapons.
Al-Eryani pointed out that the international community, the United Nations and the permanent members of the Security Council must fulfill their legal obligations in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter, strongly condemn the subversive policies of the Iranian regime, and apply real pressure to stop interfering in Yemeni affairs and stop arms smuggling to the Houthi terrorist group.
