The Government of Turkmenistan held a memorial service at the Grand Mosque of Kok-Tepe to pay tribute to the soul of the late President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed.
The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Turkmenistan Ahmed Al Hai Al Hamli, Chairman of the People’s Assembly of the Supreme National Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, members of the government of Turkmenistan, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Ashgabat, prominent figures, tribal elders and prominent figures of the Turkmen community.
Berdy Mammadov praised the dignity of the deceased, spoke about charitable projects implemented at his expense in Turkmenistan, including mosques, hospitals, airports and many vital facilities throughout the country. Berdy Mammadov stressed that Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan will forever remain in the memory of the Turkmen people. Similar commemorative events were held on the same day at the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Mosque, the Zayed Palace for Orphans and major mosques across Turkmenistan.
