Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday urged the Central African Republic to “severely punish” the murderers of nine Chinese citizens killed in an armed attack in the city of Shengbolu.
A Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said in a statement that Xi Jinping “gave important instructions demanding that every effort be made to treat the wounded, deal with the consequences in a timely manner, severely punish those responsible in accordance with the law, and ensure the safety of Chinese citizens.”
Nine Chinese were killed in an armed attack on a gold mine owned by the Chinese Gold Coast mining company in the city of Qingbolu in Central Africa.
Notably, the Chinese company officially opened its doors at the site on March 14, 2022.
