During the trilateral meeting with his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu emphasized that humanitarian corridors in Ukraine should be kept open without any hindrance.
Speaking on the sidelines of the tripartite meeting held in Antalya, Turkey, in the presence of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Ukrainian Dmitry Kuleba, Çavuşoğlu talked about the possibility of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian Dmitry Kuleba. He said that his Ukrainian counterpart, Vladimir Zelensky, and that the idea is “on the agenda”.
“Ukraine renewed Turkey’s demand to be a guarantor state,” he said.
Emphasizing that Moscow is ready to continue its contacts with Kyiv to reach an agreement, Lavrov emphasized that Russia wants Ukraine to be neutral and that any threat to Russia’s security does not come from its own territory.
Kuleba, on the other hand, stated that there was no progress in the ceasefire talks with Russia and noted that “the Russian Foreign Minister has not made a commitment regarding humanitarian corridors”.
