The police of the German city of Hamburg announced today, Sunday, according to the German channel NDR, based in Hamburg, that the fire started at 4:30 am local time in a truck stop and the material released is hydrogen sulfide.
For its part, the correspondent of Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath confirmed the leakage of hydrogen sulfide in the smoke of a fire in Hamburg.
It also indicated that initial reports indicated that the explosions occurred at the crash site, which is located near the city center.
And it stated that the Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed that the fire is very dangerous for residents.
Video footage circulated on social media shows that thick black smoke has been intensely enveloping the area since the dawn of the day, and flames are blazing on the spot.
The police launched an investigation into the fire to find out its causes. A huge fire broke out in a warehouse, indicating the possibility of chemicals spreading with smoke.
He also warned residents about the possibility of toxic substances being released into the air after the fire.
A police spokesman said about 140 people had been evacuated and it was impossible to immediately determine the severity of the situation, adding that a cloud of smoke was moving towards the city center.
