The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to postpone the African Cup of Nations, which was supposed to be held in Côte d’Ivoire in June 2023, to January 2024.
The federation explained – in a statement released today in Cairo – that the decision to postpone the tournament was made due to weather conditions in the Ivory Coast during the summer.
CAF has also decided to restore the final system of the African Champions League and the Confederation Cup, so that, starting next season, it will consist of two home and away matches, as it was in the past, instead of one meeting.
