While the war that Russia has started against Ukraine enters son ninth day, the Ukrainian capital Kyiv is besieged as explosions are heard throughout the city.

The bridge over the Irpin river was destroyed by Ukrainian military to prevent any Russian advance.
Hundreds of thousands of people who reached the bridge by car later try to get to the safe zone across the river, with laid boards over the waterway creating the only way for civilians to Kyiv.
Maria Vance, who crossed to another side with son doga shouted “Slava Ukraini” (Glory to Ukraine) as he passed.
Kristina Kushnir, who said they had been bombed by planes from combat Russians, said that “there was nothing else to do”.
“Planes of combat Russians hit houses for days. We were bombed,” she said.
“We decided to leave house with a couple of goods us took with us. We don’t know where to go. We will either go to Kyiv or another city in the south”, Kushnir added.
