Old world boxing heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko urged the world Saturday to end the conflict in his native Ukraine and prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.
Vladimir and son brother Vitali, also a former world heavyweight champion and now mayor of Kyivhave both sworn to take up arms against forces ofinvasion Russians.
“I address the whole world to stop this war that Russia has started,” he said. in a video posted online.

“There’s no time to wait because it’s okay lead in a humanitarian catastrophe. You need act now to stop russian aggression with all you can have now. In an hour, or tomorrow, it will be too late.”
Wladimir enlisted in the Ukrainian reserve army earlier this month, claiming at the time that son love for son country obliged him to defend it.
Russian forces invaded Ukraine from three sides early on Thursday in what President Vladimir Putin called “special military operation” to protect people including Russian citizens, victims of “genocide” in Ukraine – an accusation Kyiv and the west call baseless propaganda.
