US President Joseph Biden agreed to declare a major disaster in West Virginia due to floods and mudflows that swept across the country from July 12 to 13.
And the White House said in a press release today that the US president has ordered federal assistance to complement state and local recovery efforts in affected areas.
The White House confirmed that the President’s actions provide federal funding to eligible Commonwealth and local governments, as well as some private non-profit organizations on a cost-sharing basis to conduct emergency rescue operations, and repair or replace facilities damaged by floods and landslides in McDowell County .
