Bayern Munich have agreed to the amount provided by Barcelona to sign Robert Lewandowski, the striker of the Bavarian giant.
Lewandowski’s name has often been associated with Barcelona in recent days, especially after the player expressed a desire to join the Blaugrana and leave his current club.
According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Bayern Munich have agreed to a €40 million loan from Barcelona to secure the Polish player’s services.
The newspaper added that Bayern Munich had leaked to the media that they would not spend less than 60 million euros on Lewandowski’s services in order to put pressure on Barcelona to get the most out of them.
The Bavarian club agreed to the €40m sum for several reasons, primarily due to the player’s advanced age, but also due to the imminent end of his contract with the team.
Barcelona hope to close the deal quickly before July 12 so that Lewandowski does not have to return to team training again for the preparation period.
