Eduard Basurin, spokesman for the People’s Forces of the Donetsk Republic, said that the ultranationalist battalions in Mariupol had only two options: surrender or die.
“They cannot be driven from there to any other place but the sea,” Basurin added.
“They only have two choices – die or surrender,” continued Donetsk forces’ spokesperson.
Officials of the Donetsk Republic said earlier that the militants of the Ukrainian “Azov” battalion did not allow civilians in Mariupol to leave the humanitarian corridors and used them as human shields, as well as laying mines in the area.
