Today, Sunday, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received the credentials of Wahid Mubarak Sayyar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Syria.
The President of Syria received the Ambassador of Bahrain and exchanged conversations with him on a number of topics and issues of concern to the two fraternal countries, wishing him success in his mission, the Syrian News Agency reported. The ceremony was attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad, who earlier this month received a copy of the credentials of Ambassador to Bahrain Wahid Mubarak Sayyar.
The SANA news agency indicated that the reception and farewell to the Ambassador of Bahrain took place at the People’s Palace as part of the usual ceremonies. A decree appointing Bahrain’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Regional Affairs and the Cooperation Council, Wahid Mubarak Sayyar, as head of his country’s diplomatic mission in Syria was issued last December to bring him back to Damascus, which he left in 2008 after he represented his country with him since 2001.
