The Conference of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement emphasized in the Baku Declaration the importance of the role of the Non-Aligned Movement and the principles on which it is based in order to meet the new and ongoing challenges of maintaining peace, security and sustainable development. , expressing the network’s strong commitment to the goals and principles of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The Baku Declaration speaks of the noble goal of the Non-Aligned Movement to support sustainable development and peaceful coexistence between countries, noting the main role played by the Non-Aligned Movement in uniting efforts to combat the coronavirus and overcome its negative consequences. this epidemic through several initiatives that have received widespread international recognition and support.
The Baku Statement expressed serious concern that humanity is going through a difficult period when the international security system is being tested, noted the need, in the light of the current international conditions, to strengthen unity within the Non-Aligned Movement and increase its effectiveness, emphasizing the importance of providing parliamentary support to the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement to overcome the challenges of modern international situation and to obtain solutions to a number of issues of great importance to the members of the movement.
In the Baku Declaration, the parliamentarians of the non-aligned countries noted the importance of gradually improving the institutional structure and organizational framework of the Non-Aligned Parliamentary Movement to ensure the effectiveness of its activities and cooperation between its members.
The Kingdom delegation attending the conference, headed by His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Shura Council, includes Council Member Dr. Hattan Tamraz, Council Member Dr. Najwa Al-Ghamdi and a number of Council members. officials.
It is noteworthy that the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement was launched on the sidelines of the 143rd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union and is designed to provide a basis for cooperation and coordination between the parliaments of the Non-Aligned Member States. – Movement for the exchange of experience, as it includes the parliaments of the countries of the Non-Aligned Movement. With the participation of a number of international organizations, the Parliamentary Network forms four permanent committees in various areas, namely the Permanent Committee on Political Affairs, the Permanent Committee on Economic Affairs, the Permanent Committee on Humanitarian and Social Affairs and the Standing Committee on the Rules of Procedure.
