This is a continuation of the efforts made by the Kingdom to provide wise leadership to evacuate its citizens and nationals of brotherly and friendly countries from Sudan. The Kingdom sought to meet all the basic needs of foreign citizens in preparation for their departure to their countries, resulting in the total number of evacuees from Sudan since the beginning of the evacuation was about 2148 people (114 citizens and 2034 people of 62 nationalities). ). For its part, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry said that 560 citizens were evacuated from Sudan to Saudi Arabia. “Jakarta will conduct the second phase of the evacuation of more than 300 Indonesians from Khartoum to Port Sudan ahead of the next flight,” ministry spokesman Tuku Faizasya told AFP. On Wednesday, the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said 13 citizens had arrived in Jeddah from Sudan, with 12 more awaiting evacuation in Port Sudan. In addition, according to Al Arabiya TV channel, the French frigate Lorraine arrived in Jeddah with 400 people on board from Sudan, fleeing the ongoing fighting. The United Nations staff mission in the Sudan arrived on board a French frigate in Jeddah. Earlier, Riyadh organized the evacuation by sea and air. On Saturday, Saudi Arabia announced it had completed the first evacuation of civilians from Sudan to Jeddah aboard a ship carrying more than 150 people, including foreign diplomats and officials. On Monday, a military plane transported about 30 South Koreans to the air base in Jeddah, and the ship evacuated about 200 people of 14 nationalities from the city of Butsudan to the naval base in Jeddah.
