Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Deputy Secretary General of the League of Arab States, explained the Union’s position on the crisis in Ukraine and pointed to the friendly relations between Arab countries, Ukraine and Russia.
Zaki said in a television interview: “Arab countries have friendly relations between Ukraine and Russia, and it is valuable for friends to see each other fighting, and Arab countries distanced themselves from neutrality between the two sides.”
“We do not blame or condemn, but we want to help… and we are trying to coordinate positions to support Arab communities in Ukraine.”
“Not all Arab countries have diplomatic representations in Ukraine, and therefore not all of them can support their own communities, and we call on Arab countries to help each other,” he said.
