The representative of Palestine in the League of Arab States, Muhannad Al-Aqluq, announced that a decision had been made to hold a conference in support of the occupied Jerusalem, which was approved by the Arab summit in Algiers, on February 12 at the headquarters of the League of Arab States with the participation of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Arab foreign ministers countries, representatives of international organizations, investment funds, unions and the private sector, as well as civil society organizations and experts in international law. Al-Aqluq said in a statement today that the political and legal aspect of the conference includes a series of sessions to discuss attempts to change the historical and existing status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islamic and Christian shrines in Jerusalem, and Israel’s racist policies, in addition to discussing targeting for Arabic educational programs.
The alternative representative of Palestine to the Arab League indicated that the economic direction of the conference will discuss the investment opportunities and development needs of the city of Jerusalem in its vital sectors, as well as ways to enable Palestinian citizens to resist Israeli plans, in addition to discussing housing, the development of vital important sectors, empowerment and support for the youth and women’s sectors.
