An earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred in the east of Tajikistan

An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale hit eastern Tajikistan this morning. The USGS said the quake’s epicenter was 20.5 kilometers east of Tajikistan on the border with Afghanistan and China, adding that its estimates indicate that “a small or non-existent population” is being hit by landslides as a result of the quake.
