Daily Mail, HBO host Bill Maher’in reported that he compared the escalation of the current anti-Russian mood in the world to racism.
In an interview with guests on the show “Real Time”, Maher criticized the third-party cancellation culture that the US and Europe are driving their mechanisms against the Russians.
“I got the impression that we claim that everything about Russia is bad in our country, that all Russians are bad. Firstly, it’s not fair. If they (the Russians) weren’t white, it would seem to me that they could be called racist,” he said.
Other guests of the program also agreed with this view. Information expert Kristen Soltis Anderson noted that the fact that she was after Russian “goes too far”, noting that genius Russian pianist Alexander Malofeev’in previously banned from performing in Canada. “I don’t like the story of the Russian pianist who was prevented from performing with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra because he was Russian,” he explained.
Nuclear physicist and director-general of the Energy Futures Initiative, Ernst Munich, criticized the Western countries’ decision to cut off all contact with Moscow, but even after the relations crisis in 2014, the Russia-NATO Council’s channels remained. “We said we wouldn’t negotiate with him when the crisis started. There’s no point in that,” he said.
