The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz bin Muhammad Al Wazel, briefed the United Nations General Assembly on the Kingdom’s exceptional achievements since the launch of Vision 2030, which focused on improving the quality of life in the Kingdom in a vibrant and innovative environment that supports economic and social growth and enables different sectors of society to spin the wheel of development.
In a speech by the Kingdom during a general discussion on the work of the Economic and Financial Committee at its 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Ambassador Al-Wazel said that the Kingdom is making efforts to address the effects of climate change as it embraces the concept of a circular carbon economy and focuses on plans Renewable Energy and launched two Saudi initiatives, Green and Green Middle East, which will help achieve global climate change goals.
With regard to energy security, he emphasized that the Kingdom is committed to a responsible approach to energy transformation in order to benefit from all sources of energy to meet global needs in an environmentally sustainable manner.
In conclusion, Ambassador Al-Wazel stressed the importance of strengthening international cooperation to solve international problems, as well as the desire to play a humanitarian and developmental role in supporting countries most in need and around the world.
