His Excellency Minister of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Directorate of Foreign Trade, Chairman of the Saudi side of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council visited the sister Republic of Iraq to strengthen economic relations between the two countries, as well as follow up on issues related to the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council.
During the visit, His Excellency met with the Prime Minister of Iraq, Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, conveying greetings and gratitude from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince to His Excellency. I wish my beloved Iraq further progress and prosperity.
He also met with His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Planning Dr. Muhammad Ali Tamim (Chairman of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordinating Council on the Iraqi side), His Excellency Asir Al Ghurari, Minister of Commerce of Iraq, and His Excellency the Honorable Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Dr. r Faik Zaydan, to strengthen the strategic partnership within the Saudi-Iraqi Coordinating Council.
The visit is one of the results of the meeting of His Highness the Crown Prince, God bless him, with the Prime Minister of Iraq, Muhammad bin Shia Al Sudani, dedicated to strengthening economic relations between the two countries.
The Council aims to improve communication between the two countries at a strategic level and bring bilateral relations to new horizons in various fields, including the economy, development, security, investment, tourism, culture and media, as well as strengthening joint cooperation between the two sides in important international and regional affairs, protecting common interests and developing partnerships between the private sector. In the two countries, the Council is composed (on the Saudi side) by fifteen members of Their Highnesses and Excellencies.
