On behalf of His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Deputy Foreign Minister, Engineer Waleed bin Abdul Karim Al Khuraji attended the 13th Bosphorus Summit held in Istanbul, Turkey, under the slogan “Great Transformation… Drivers of Global Change”.
In his speech at the summit, His Excellency spoke about the important role that the Kingdom plays as an influential and effective force in the global economy, as well as related initiatives, referring to the Kingdom’s long history of humanitarian and emergency assistance around the world, which has led it to third place. internationally in terms of aid volume in 2021. Over the past two decades, it has provided over $95 billion to more than 160 countries around the world in response to humanitarian needs without any discrimination.
Speaking about the challenges facing the world in the aftermath of the new coronavirus pandemic, His Excellency said: “These challenges are forcing us to join international efforts and expand our capacity to face them together as the crises surrounding the region and the world have affected global trade. supply and created new challenges that the global economy has not faced before.”
His Excellency expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Turkey for hosting the summit, wishing it success and results leading to increased cooperation and the use of efforts and experience to achieve stability and prosperity in the world economy, as well as success in solving all problems.
The participation of the Kingdom in the Bosphorus Summit was a confirmation of the importance of the serious efforts of the international community to achieve a sustainable and comprehensive global reality in the light of the successive economic and political crises that the world is witnessing.
