The Board of Directors of the Al Hilal Club has announced the establishment of a women’s sports department, which aims to create and develop a comprehensive system and empower women in Saudi sports.
And Al Hilal released a statement on his Twitter page: The Al Hilal Club Board of Directors has decided to establish a women’s sports department at the club with the aim of creating and developing a holistic system and empowering women in the field of sports.
Sports to be managed by women include football, volleyball, basketball, karate, taekwondo, fencing and darts. In a club statement, the club announced the appointment of Rukh Al-Arfaj as Director of Women’s Sports at Al Hilal.
The move is in line with the growing interest in women’s sports in the Kingdom, where the Football Association has formed a women’s football circle and the Saudi national team has competed in more than one international competition since its recent inception.
