Ahsoka: A Now Cult and Multifaceted Character
Ahsoka Tano is a character of great importance in the Star Wars universe. Although she does not appear in the Star Wars films, her significance is evident in the series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, where she serves as the apprentice to Anakin Skywalker before he becomes Darth Vader. Despite leaving the Jedi Order, Ahsoka continues to fight her own battles and strives to lead a normal life. It is only after a decade that she discovers the true identity of the Dark Lord of the Sith, who is none other than Emperor Palpatine’s right-hand man.
At the end of her journey in the series, Ahsoka embarks on a mission with Sabine Wren to find Ezra Bridger, a Jedi apprentice who disappeared after a battle. While Ezra’s voice is heard in The Rise of Skywalker, it is under the guidance of Dave Filoni that Ahsoka’s character gains even more depth. Filoni believes that Ahsoka can exist in various forms of media related to Star Wars, which opens up new possibilities. Actress Rosario Dawson expresses her interest in portraying Ahsoka in a movie and is eventually chosen to play the character in season 2 of the series The Mandalorian. She later appears in The Book of Boba Fett, and it is announced that an entire series will be dedicated to her. Finally, after much anticipation and speculation, the first two episodes of Ahsoka premiered on August 24th on Disney+.
In this series, Ahsoka, who attempted to train Sabine Wren, learns that the New Republic has been attacked by two Force users wielding lightsabers. As she searches for an artifact that could lead her to Grand Admiral Thrawn and her former companion Ezra Bridger, she seeks help from Sabine Wren, known for her puzzle-solving skills. While the first two episodes have received positive feedback, some viewers have criticized the lack of depth and the difficulty in following the fight scenes. However, with only two episodes released out of the total eight, it is expected that the story will unfold and improve as the series progresses.
Rosario Dawson Talks about the Series… Maybe a Little Too Much!

If you want to avoid spoilers, now would be the time to stop reading. Dawson shared her favorite scene from the fourth episode:
This isn’t the first time Dawson has unintentionally revealed spoilers. In 2021, she announced on Instagram that Hayden Christensen would be returning as Anakin Skywalker, prompting LucasFilm to ask her to remove the post. However, the internet never forgets. In the meantime, fans can look forward to the third episode, airing next Wednesday.
