An Egyptian father hugged his son and jumped off the tenth floor in Nasr City, east of the capital Cairo, to escape a fire that broke out Friday at his home, killing them instantly.
Mohamed Ezzat, the owner of the library where the fire broke out in the Al Waha district of Nasr city, said they were surprised by the fall of a father hugging his 4-year-old son, and they heard the distress signal from above, so they saw the mother clinging to the window on the tenth floor, along with two other children.
Ezzat told Sky News Arabia that civil protection was informed and fire trucks arrived immediately along with rescuers, and the mother and two children were rescued with her.
He added that after the fire was extinguished, it turned out that another 5-year-old girl had suffocated as a result of the fire.
The property in which the fire broke out consists of 11 floors, and the bodies of the father, his son and daughter were submitted for autopsy, and the prosecutor’s office instructed the forensic laboratory to inspect and investigate the causes of the fire.
