The Arab Women Leadership Conference, in its first edition on the theme “The Future of Women Leadership”, was held in Cairo on Monday evening under the auspices of the Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouli, and with the participation of women leaders. in national, regional and international organizations dealing with women’s issues.
In her opening speech, Dr. Afnan bint Abdullah Al Shuaibi, Executive Director of the Organization for the Development of Women in the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, praised the choice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the guest of honor for the first edition of this conference – to highlight the steps taken by the Kingdom to support and empowerment of women in all areas, and the efforts of its efforts to advance the rights of women, as well as support and care programs aimed at them, in line with the Kingdom’s vision for 2030. .
She pointed out the importance of holding this conference to exchange discussions and experiences in order to enhance the role of women, address and eliminate the problems and obstacles they face, protect them, strengthen their position in society and ensure their quality of life, as well as assess and review achievements and positions on the progress made in addressing women’s issues in Islamic societies and among peoples.
She emphasized the interest of the Women’s Development Organization in women’s issues and empowerment, working on the preparation of programs, training courses and seminars on all major issues of concern to women, providing technical assistance in enhancing the role and status of women in Arab and Islamic countries. , as well as supporting programs, activities and events aimed at advancing women and empowering them in various fields.
The Executive Director of the Organization for the Development of Women in the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation discussed the efforts and support of all Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in strengthening relations and developing interdependence in various political, economic, social and legal sectors among business women in Islamic and Arab countries and investing in renewable energy Arab and Islamic women.
Conference activities include panel discussion sessions on several topics focusing on women’s empowerment in specific sectors such as banking and finance, and education opportunities for women, as well as an overview of the digital transformation sectors’ efforts and women’s participation in them, as well as part of the economic empowerment effort. and opportunities for women in the Arab region.
