The Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan, expressed Riyadh’s welcome to the decision of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which calls on Iran to urgently fulfill its obligations, and bin Khaled tweeted via Twitter: “The Kingdom welcomes the decision of the Board of Governors of the International Energy agencies. The nuclear deal, which was adopted during the deliberations of the Council, highlights the need for Iran to comply with its obligations under the Safeguards Agreement and the need for its cooperation with the Agency to resolve all outstanding nuclear issues.
In addition, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the United States of America welcomed the adoption by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency of a resolution criticizing Iran for its lack of cooperation with the agency.
The Quartet said in a statement released today: “The overwhelming vote on the resolution in the Board of Governors sends a clear signal to Iran that it must honor its safeguards obligations and provide credible technical explanations for outstanding safeguards issues.”
The Quartet called on Iran to comply with its legal obligations and cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency to fully and without delay clarify and resolve these issues.
