His Excellency the Administrator of Zakat, Revenue and Customs, engineer Suheil bin Muhammad Abanmi, and His Excellency Deputy Minister of Sports Mr. Badr bin Abdulrahman Al-Qadi visited the Salwa port, which links the Kingdom and the fraternal State of Qatar, to ascertain the existing preparations in the port for reception and service of travelers arriving and departing to the State of Qatar to participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
During the tour, he was briefed on the ongoing preparation and development work at the port that Zakat, Revenue and Customs have been working on over the past few periods, and focused on doubling the capacity of special tracks by completing procedures for vehicles, from 12 lanes, for exit vehicles to 35 lanes, while increasing the capacity of the arrivals department from 14 to 35 lanes, in addition to the implementation of a number of bus development projects, such as the creation of a hall in the arrivals department of more than 3,000 square meters, with 40 booths for services for passengers arriving by buses, in addition to 29 cabins. The rest are used during peak hours, increasing the capacity in the departure area for buses from 10 cabins to 30 cabins.
Their Excellencies visited other projects implemented at various port facilities where Zakat, Tax and Customs have focused on improving the traveler experience by focusing on the visual aspect, creating welcome and informational advertising screens at arrivals and departures. .
His Excellency the Administrator of Zakat and the Revenue Authority called on all the staff of the Office working in the port to continue to make every effort and seek effective cooperation and ongoing coordination with all partners in customs work from government agencies in order to promote synergies and perform additional work and use their full potential to facilitate procedures for arrival and departure from and to the Kingdom.
