Retired Lieutenant General Alexei Pulikovsky explained why the Russian army did not touch Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and why official buildings in Kiev were not bombed.
Pulikovsky, who served as the commander of the Russian forces in Chechnya in the 1990s, said that the Russian military operation, in which high-precision weapons targeted very important places in Ukraine’s military infrastructure, continues.
Practically speaking, the central military command in Ukraine no longer controls the situation, and all military units, even ultranationalist battalions, fight each other as they please, without any control from the center or even contact with it.
The general said, “Let’s ask ourselves a question: why didn’t we bomb the Presidential palace with Zelensky’s high-precision missile, why didn’t we target the parliament building or the state security building? Believe me, as a soldier. It’s okay, my friend. They understand that we need them, for example some of Zelensky’s Let’s say there must be a legitimate president who will sign and approve the documents.
Plikovsky noted that this is necessary not only for us and not only for the whole world, but also for Ukraine itself. So future generations will never say there has been some sort of illegal change in power.”
