An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck southwest Pakistan today, with no casualties or property damage reported.
The Pakistan Meteorological and Geological Service indicated that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 30 kilometers off the coast of Balochistan province, and it was felt by residents of the southern regions of the province.
She added that a magnitude five aftershock occurred in the same area ten minutes after the first shock of the earthquake.
This earthquake occurred at a time when Balochistan province is experiencing a wave of heavy monsoon rains, floods and heavy rains, which are the worst in decades and have led to great loss of life and property.
